International Peace Day of the Day: Today marks the 30th annual International Day of Peace, established by the U.N. to “encourage all nations and people to honor a cessation of hostilities during the day.”

But today also is POW/MIA Recognition Day and World Gratitude Day, which is fitting since the last of the American surge troops in Afghanistan withdrew today.
